Some of the most positive comments come from the likes of Mick Fraser from God is a Geek who said:

"Lies of P is a staggering achievement for Neowiz, and one of the very best "non-FromSoft" Soulslikes I've ever played.".

With others such as Liam Croft from Push Square giving Lies of P a 8 / 10 and said:

"Lies of P feels like the result of a developer having already taken multiple stabs at the Souls-like genre, so it's impressive that Round8 Studio has accomplished so much on its first attempt. By fully embracing its dark take on the Pinocchio story, it sets itself apart from anything else available. Elevating it above other games are quality combat and extensive, satisfying customisation, turning Lies of P into a first-class experience for FromSoftware fanatics."

One of the lowest scores was from VG247 which gave Lies of P a 2 / 5, an average review score and said:

There’s some enjoyment to be found in Lies of P. Its action is competent but lacks the polish and stir of its contemporaries. Its atmosphere can be engrossing, but it’s a hodgepodge of themes and aesthetics you’ve seen before that never rises above the familiar. I was never impressed by it, and I never stopped questioning the point of the entire endeavour throughout my time with it.

It's a shame but this is only one of a few reviews which didn't click with Lies of P, with a vast majority being incredibly positive. In any case, it seems like Lies of P has plenty of fascinating ideas for combat and exploration, has a rich and dense game world and compelling story. We can't wait to get our hands on it soon!

Lies of P will launch on Sept. 19, 2023. The standard and deluxe editions are available for pre-order for $59.99 and $69.99 respectively, in digital or physical format on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and participating retailers. The standard edition of Lies of P will also be available via the Mac App Store for models with Apple silicon at launch for $59.99. Supported Mac systems and recommended specs to be announced soon. This game is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB, PEGI 16, and USK 16.
