Frostrail - New survival-horror FPS hits 100k Steam wishlists since reveal

Frostrail, the first-person, open-world crafting survival game from publisher Shiro Unlimited and developer FakeFish, has steamed its way onto more than 100k wishlists four days after its reveal at the Triple-i Initiative showcase, broadcast on April 10. Endure a perilous train trip through a desolate, post-apocalyptic world locked in perpetual winter. Rely on the strength of a powerful locomotive and the courage of allies to press forward in a hostile world of arctic temperatures and undead abominations known as Revenants.



Revealed at the Triple-i Initiative Showcase 2025 today, the 3rd party publishing arm of Shiro Games Shiro Unlimited (Northgard, Wartales, Dune: Spice Wars, Ale Abbey), partners with developer FakeFish (Barotrauma) to create Frostrail, a first-person shooter, open-world survival crafting game arriving on Steam Early Access for Windows PC in 2026.

Endure a desolate post-apocalyptic world with arctic temperatures, unspeakable horrors, and one life-sustaining locomotive powered by the impressive Eden Engine. Scavenge underground dungeons and crumbling ruins across the tundra while braving forces both natural and unnatural, slaying horrifying abominations known as Revenants in intense FPS battles.

Collect vital resources, but stray from the train for too long and risk succumbing to the icy environment and its cursed inhabitants. The train is not just transportation, it is a home base, a moving fortress, and the one thing standing between you and a cold death. Only the lucky souls get to continue the treacherous journey.

Craft essential parts to upgrade the convoy and create new tools, weapons, and equipment. Band together with other survivors in a 4-person online co-op for a greater chance against the harsh landscapes, ravenous opponents, and towering bosses.

Venture forth from the safety of the train to scavenge vital resources in underground vaults and crumbling ruins. But be careful not to wander too far, as the ice and ravenous beasts will be sure to consume anyone or anything foolish enough to be caught outside for too long. Make it back to safety and craft looted resources into weapon upgrades, new gear, and improved defences for the train. Join forces with other survivors in online co-op for better chances of survival in this strange and hostile world. Frostrail will launch on Steam Early Access for Windows PC in 2026 with English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Simplified Chinese language support.
