Publisher ESDigital Games is excited to announce that AWAKEN – Astral Blade will be launching on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch later this year. Developed by Dark Pigeon Games, this dark, side-scrolling action-adventure has already earned critical acclaim and positive feedback since its successful debut on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Praised for its immersive atmosphere, fast-paced combat, and striking visuals, the game is set to introduce a new wave of players to the mysterious Horace Islands. As part of the ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo Fest, a demo is available on Xbox platforms until September 30, 2025, giving players a taste of protagonist Tania’s abilities and the dark world she inhabits.
AWAKEN – Astral Blade is part of the China Hero Project, a program by Sony Interactive Entertainment Shanghai that supports Chinese developers. The game also received the ‘Best in Play’ award at GDC 2024, cementing its status as a standout title in the indie gaming world.
In the game, players step into the shoes of Tania, a bionic girl on a mission to uncover the ancient secrets of a long-lost civilization. As she explores the Horace Islands, she must master a variety of skills and weapons to face deadly mutant creatures born from a mysterious energy source called Karpas. The game offers a rich, branching narrative where player choices influence the story, leading to different endings.
With its fluid combat, deep customization options, and a world full of secrets to uncover, AWAKEN – Astral Blade promises a compelling experience for fans of the Metroidvania genre. The game is already available digitally on PlayStation 5 and PC, and a physical edition is also available for PS5 at select retailers.
