Bloober Team, the acclaimed developers of the SILENT HILL 2 remake, has been celebrating the recent launch of Cronos: The New Dawn, which launched on Sept. 5 to widespread critical praise. The game launched on all major platforms — PC (Steam, GOG, Epic), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, bringing its acclaimed survival horror experience to handheld players. To mark the occasion, a chilling new live-action trailer offers a haunting glimpse into the world of Cronos. With its gripping story and next-gen visuals, the game ushers in a bold new era for the genre — and a standout moment for Nintendo fans.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror experience like no other. Set in the haunting ruins of New Dawn, a world inspired by Nowa Huta, a real historical district in Kraków, Poland, the game unfolds across two timelines: a post-apocalyptic future decaying in despair, and the gritty, industrial 1980s reality. This powerful duality blends retro realism, dystopian sci-fi, and a retro-futuristic atmosphere to create a deeply immersive world filled with tension, mystery, and terror.
Since its global debut, Cronos: The New Dawn has received widespread praise from international media. Critics have highlighted its distinctive storytelling and gameplay, applauding its unique take on the survival horror genre. The game has earned high scores and strong endorsements across the board. As Windows Central writes: “Cronos: The New Dawn is the best horror franchise debut in over a decade.”
To further celebrate the launch, Bloober Team released a special Nintendo live-action trailer showcasing one of the game’s most defining features — time travel between two eras. The trailer also highlights powerful moments from the game, including merging monsters, struggles with orphans, limited resources, and other intense scenes that make Cronos a true treat for survival horror fans—dark, unsettling, and packed with fresh ideas the genre hasn’t seen in years. Additionally, the game leverages the hardware capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to choose from three different aiming modes: standard, gyroscope, and mouse controls.
