NIS America has officially announced that the critically acclaimed 2D side-scrolling adventure, The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, will make its long-awaited debut on Steam in early 2026. Accompanied by a fresh set of screenshots, the announcement confirms that PC players will soon be able to experience this "cozy yet perilous" puzzle-platformer, which first captured hearts on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2019.

A Fairytale of Love and Loss

The game tells a hauntingly beautiful story of two lonely souls brought together by a tragic accident. Players control a powerful wolf who accidentally blinds a curious prince. Consumed by guilt, the wolf strikes a deal with a forest witch to trade her beautiful singing voice for the ability to transform into a human princess. Disguised, she must lead the blind prince through a monster-infested forest to find a cure for his sight.

Brute Strength Meets Sharp Wit

The core gameplay revolves around the wolf’s dual nature. Players must fluidly switch between the Princess form—essential for holding the prince’s hand and guiding him safely past traps—and the Wolf form, which possesses the strength required to dispatch hostile creatures and clear heavy obstacles.

The journey is not just a test of reflexes but of protection. The forest is a lethal environment for a blind prince, and the "princess" must use her wits to navigate environmental puzzles while keeping her true identity hidden. Every step toward the witch's house brings the pair closer to a cure, but as the game's storybook narrative suggests, every gift in this forest comes with a heavy price.

A Vivid Aesthetic

Rendered in a delicate, hand-drawn art style reminiscent of a classic storybook, the game invites players to collect "lost pages" and flower petals that reveal fragments of the characters' shared memories. These collectibles paint a vivid picture of the tragedy and love that define their bond.

The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince will support Japanese audio with text options in English, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. PC fans can look forward to diving into this atmospheric world within the coming months.
