The hunt for loot enters a new era today as XD Games celebrates the third anniversary of Torchlight: Infinite. The milestone is marked by the launch of SS12 Lunaria, a massive seasonal update available now across PC, iOS, and Android. This season introduces a fresh farming loop, a brand-new hero, and significant permanent mechanics that reshape the Netherrealm.
The namesake seasonal mechanic, Lunaria, introduces Lunar Stone Statues throughout the world. By wielding Lunar Rings, players can awaken these statues to battle "Lunari" creatures. These encounters are dynamic, influenced by Lunar Omens and Rhapsodies that can transform monsters into statues or significantly boost loot drops.
Adding to the permanent roster of features is the Creation Engine. These machines, guarded by Sentries, act as high-stakes reward hubs. Once cleared, nearby Creation Crystals transform into top-tier gear, including the Path of the Brave-exclusive Fluorescent Memory. Players can further customize these engines through Netherrealm Talents, turning them into buff dispensers or high-efficiency gold crystal generators.
Joining the roster is Sage, a unique elixir-based healer. Unlike traditional heroes, Sage adjusts her "recipes" mid-combat, adding rare defensive stats like Injury Buffer to her brews. The update also overhauls the game’s potion system into Elixir Skills, which utilize charge points rather than standard mana or cooldowns. Players can specialize Sage as a "Scholar" for massive stat boosts or a "Mad Scientist" to wield extra offensive flasks.
The update introduces two major systems for long-term play:
Renewed Memories: A new crafting method called Revival allows players to unlock latent powers within Hero Memories, adding powerful random affixes and elevating stat tiers.
Modularization: This unique summon system allows players to turn defeated bosses into temporary allies. At launch, twenty different boss monsters can be replicated to fight alongside the player.
To top off the celebration, the Midas Touch anniversary event begins today. Players can complete objectives to earn rewards like Pactspirit Crystals and commemorative gold notes.
