Independent video game publisher DOJO System has announced that Space Dragons, the highly anticipated cooperative arcade shoot 'em up, will officially make its console debut on June 18, 2026. Developed by the joint Chilean–Mexican indie studio TEAM Black Hat Robot, the high-octane retro title is scheduled to land on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S at a accessible price point of €12.99.

Space Dragons aims to capture a very specific, classic gaming memory: two players sharing a couch, navigating a screen completely filled with enemy bullets, and facing down massive boss fights. Rather than trying to completely reinvent the traditional shoot 'em up genre, the game deliberately leans into nostalgia, picking up exactly where old-school arcade cabinets left off and bringing that frenetic energy straight back into modern living rooms.

Instead of treating local multiplayer as an afterthought, the development team built the entire project around two-player local co-op as the core structural spine of the experience. The relentless gameplay situations, waves of enemies, and screen-filling giant bosses are specifically designed to be survived together, fundamentally altering how players must communicate and read each stage in real time. The game features a diverse roster of playable starships and vibrant pixel art deeply rooted in classic coin-op aesthetics.

TEAM Black Hat Robot has spent years honing its craft within the arcade shooter genre, previously releasing distinct genre titles like Q-YO Blaster and Little Fighters on Stream. Space Dragons originally launched on PC via Steam in 2022, where it earned warm reception from the independent gaming community. The upcoming console ports represent the studio's official expansion into the home console market.

The console versions will fully support both English and Spanish language options upon release. Digital storefront pre-orders are expected to go live ahead of the June 18 launch date, offering a perfect opportunity for cooperative gaming enthusiasts to team up, fire up their consoles, and survive the bullet-hell universe together.
