The Esports Foundation has officially announced that global music powerhouses Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, and Theodora will headline the highly anticipated Opening Ceremony for the Esports World Cup 2026. Taking place at Paris’s iconic La Seine Musicale on July 8, the blockbuster concert will kick off the first-ever international edition of the world's largest esports and gaming festival.

The star-studded performance is designed to celebrate a modern generation of French culture that is deeply intertwined with digital spaces, live-streaming platforms, online communities, and creator culture. By bringing together gaming and contemporary music, the event reflects the global, digital-first audience driving the competitive gaming industry forward.

"The Opening Ceremony is our chance to welcome the world to the Esports World Cup," said Mike McCabe, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer at the Esports Foundation. "As we bring EWC 2026 to Paris for the first time, we wanted to celebrate the city through artists who have helped shape music and culture in France today. Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, and Theodora each represent something different, but together they reflect the creativity and influence that make Paris such a special place to host this event."

Aya Nakamura, often dubbed 'The Queen of France,' brings her record-breaking fusion of R&B, Afrobeats, and French pop to the stage following her historic performance at the Paris Olympics. Joining her is multi-platinum producer DJ Snake, whose boundary-pushing career spans electronic music, hip-hop, and underground club culture, mirroring the global connectivity of gaming. Rising breakout star Theodora completes the headline trio, blending rap and club music with the distinct aesthetics of the digitally native streaming generation.

The tournament marks a massive milestone for competitive gaming. Running from July 6 through August 23, the event will host more than 2,000 elite players and 200 professional clubs representing over 100 countries. Competitors will battle across 25 distinct tournaments spanning 24 of the world's top gaming titles, all vying for a historic, record-breaking prize pool of over $75 million.
