Publisher 505 Games and developer INGAME Studios have announced the launch of Update 21, a massive, free content drop for their co-op first-person shooter heist game Crime Boss: Rockay City. Now live across all platforms, the blockbuster patch ushers in Version 2.0 of the title, coinciding with its second anniversary on Steam and a major milestone of over one million lifetime units sold.
The extensive update introduces a highly anticipated single-player Story Mode, allowing players to experience the rise of criminal mastermind Travis Baker without the randomized roguelite mechanics or permadeath systems found in the original campaign. This newly accessible, structured format preserves the game's cinematic cutscenes while introducing fresh narrative content. The campaign seamlessly weaves in major plotlines from the previously released Gold Cup and Cagnali’s Order expansion packs into one cohesive story.
"We've never stopped believing in Crime Boss: Rockay City and the unique experience it can offer players,” said Jarek Kolar, CEO of INGAME Studios. “Update 21 represents everything we've learned over the past three years. It's our biggest step yet toward making the game more accessible, more creative, and more enjoyable for every type of player."
In addition to the narrative overhaul, the update expands the criminal underworld with two new missions. Players can take on a high-stakes heist in "Hell’s Kitchen" or experience an otherworldly alien brawl in the "Close Encounter" mission.
PC players will also receive the full version of the game's official modding tools, granting full creative freedom to develop custom characters, original weapons, unique missions, and entirely new gameplay modes. INGAME Studios plans to celebrate this community output through regular showcases on their official YouTube channel, while actively exploring avenues to bring the best player-created content to console audiences through curated future releases.
Crime Boss: Rockay City is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with Update 21 available now as a free download.
