Panzer Knights: Commander’s Edition has officially been announced for a next-generation console launch, bringing its unique blend of military simulation and anime-inspired visuals to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 13 August 2026.
This comprehensive new edition serves as an ideal entry point for console players, bundling the tactical base game together with three additional bonus content packs right at launch. A newly released gameplay overview trailer has also debuted, offering commanders an in-depth preview of fundamental combat mechanics, crew recruitment systems, and tank customization options.
The game places players in command of a German Panzer platoon navigating the intense and evolving front lines of World War II. The main campaign stretches across iconic historic conflicts, tasking players with capturing vital objectives from the initial Battle of France all the way through to the massive operations of Operation Barbarossa. Success on these virtual European battlefields requires sharp tactical decision-making, forcing commanders to actively manage their vehicle's vital subsystems, deploy tactical smoke screens, organize real-time platoon formations, and call in crucial air support.
Between high-stakes skirmishes, players can visit their camp to assemble and fine-tune an elite crew from a roster of 30 original characters, each featuring distinct backstories, skills, and unlockable progression paths. Upgrading the platoon's overall combat effectiveness also relies heavily on building a formidable garage. The extensive in-game vehicle roster features meticulously detailed historical armour with authentic camouflage patterns and unique armor profiles, ranging from the nimble Panzer III to the legendary Tiger I.
Furthermore, the included bonus content packs expand the strategic possibilities by giving players direct access to famous Allied machinery, such as the M4-748 Sherman, M26 Pershing, Churchill VII, and Valentine XI. Players can also deploy heavy Axis reinforcement vehicles, including the Elefant tank destroyer and the super-heavy Panzer VIII Maus. Alongside the digital rollout, a physical edition will be available exclusively for PlayStation 5. Pre-orders and digital wishlists are now live across all major console storefronts ahead of the August deployment.
