Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have unveiled a first look at Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC Season 4, delivering the franchise's largest seasonal update to date. The new season introduces naval warfare, massive new maps, and an official entertainment crossover with Paramount's Top Gun franchise.

Launching in three distinct phases, Season 4 kicks off today with Phase 1 (Pacific Front). This initial update debuts Tsuru Reef—the largest map in Battlefield 6 history—alongside operational aircraft carriers and a new Dynamic Wave System that alters water combat and line of sight. Phase 2 arrives on 18 August, introducing the headline Top Gun collaboration alongside a reimagining of the classic Wake Island map. The season concludes with Phase 3 (Tidal Strike) on 15 September, featuring naval-focused contracts and rewards.

The Top Gun collaboration brings iconic aircraft like the F-18 Super Hornet and F-14 Tomcat into the game, alongside exclusive character skins and voice work from film stars Miles Teller (Rooster), Lewis Pullman (Bob), and Charles Parnell (Warlock). A new Battlefield 6 mode, Carrier Strike, pits air, land, and sea forces against each other in a bid to destroy the opposing team's aircraft carrier. Meanwhile, Battlefield REDSEC players can take on a jets-only Gauntlet mission set across a modified version of Tsuru Reef.

Beyond new content, Season 4 will introduce community-requested features, including the launch of Spectator Mode and the Portal Custom Lobby. Executive Producer Ryan McArthur noted that the high-adrenaline intensity of Top Gun serves as a natural fit for the scale of Battlefield, marking a major milestone for the long-running action franchise.
