Developer Eschatology Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity have released a previously unseen 2025 interview featuring the late Visual Director Viktor Antonov and Creative Director Fuad Kuliev. The footage offers an inside look at the creative vision and worldbuilding behind the studio's debut title, Guns of Eschaton, an apocalyptic Western Soulslike first-person shooter.

Antonov, renowned for his influential art direction on iconic titles such as Half-Life 2 and Dishonored, joins Kuliev in the archival interview to discuss how the game's setting was conceptualized through a combination of historical research, architectural detail, and creative experimentation. The conversation reveals how the development team translated real-world inspirations and philosophical themes into tangible narrative and design choices.

"Let’s call it, alternate history. What's happening is, ‘Billy the Kid has a High Noon duel with Lucifer.’ That is the very defining thing that we’re trying to create," explained Creative Director Fuad Kuliev regarding the core concept driving the project's direction.

"We draw inspiration from every detail: architecture, history, technology, weaponry, and then we add the weirdness," shared the late Viktor Antonov during the discussion.

Billed as the world's first Soulslike FPS, Guns of Eschaton drops players into a dusty, harsh landscape defined by gunpowder and supernatural horror. Designed for both solo and cooperative play, the title emphasizes strategic combat, precise ammunition management, and deep player progression as gunslingers navigate an alternate nineteenth-century frontier.

The release of the interview provides fans and industry observers with a rare behind-the-scenes look at Antonov’s final major project, highlighting his signature approach to environment design and world-building alongside Kuliev's narrative vision.

Guns of Eschaton is currently in development by Eschatology Entertainment and will be published globally by 4Divinity. The newly released interview and official game media assets are available to view online through the publisher's official media channels.
