NetEase Games and Everstone Studio have announced that open-world action RPG Where Winds Meet has officially passed 100 million players globally.
To mark the milestone, the development team revealed that Hidden Mountain Chapter 3—the final installment of the Hidden Mountain storyline—will launch on 16 September 2026. The update introduces a narrative conclusion where players confront Qianye, the antagonist responsible for the tragedy at Blissful Retreat.
The upcoming release will feature two story bosses, two open-world field bosses, and additional gameplay activities.
Ahead of the chapter finale, a new martial arts fighting style titled Bamboo Cut - Draught will launch on 3 September 2026. Inspired by classic Jackie Chan film Drunken Master, the combat set features fluid movement patterns paired with heavy striking mechanics.
To refine the game's martial arts combat, Everstone Studio recently appointed veteran action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping—known for his work on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix, and The Grandmaster—as Global Action Consultant, following previous collaborations with director Stephen Tung Wai.
Future updates will also introduce a tactical Extraction Mode, allowing players to engage enemies using open combat, stealth, environmental disguises, or non-lethal looting techniques. Additionally, the game has launched its Ghost Month special event, incorporating Chinese folk legends and atmospheric supernatural elements into the open world.
The announcement comes alongside a Gamescom Awards 2026 nomination for Best Mobile Game. Head of Publishing Eric stated that the team remains focused on expanding the game's Version 2.0 content pipeline, promising further story expansions and combat refinements.
