Independent developer RolldBox Games and publisher Jataí Games have officially released Alex & Arty on PC via Steam. The colorful, non-violent third-person adventure invites players to restore the polluted planet of Gladness alongside a shapeshifting companion, arriving with a 15% launch discount off its $18.99 USD base price for the first two weeks.
In Alex & Arty, traditional combat is replaced with healing and environmental renewal. Armed with a tool called the Ionizer, players cleanse corruption, rescue local wildlife known as Dilimals, and revitalize damaged regions into vibrant ecosystems. As the planet recovers, players' companion Arty unlocks new forms that expand movement and traversal options across the world. The narrative-driven journey features hidden secrets, side quests, and building systems designed for exploration at any pace.
Extending the game's core message into reality, the developers have also launched Alex & Arty – Restoring Planet Earth, an optional $4.99 USD DLC created in partnership with certified B Corporation Dots.eco. Players who purchase the DLC receive in-game items that trigger real-world environmental contributions, earning a personalized certificate linked to verified impact projects. RolldBox Games and Jataí Games will direct 100% of their net revenue from the DLC directly to Dots.eco.
"From the beginning, Alex & Arty has been about leaving a world better than you found it," explained Leo Batelli, Publisher Director at Jataí Games. "We wanted that idea to extend beyond the game itself, so players who choose to support the DLC can also contribute to real-world environmental initiatives." Creative Director Ferran Perez added that the team poured immense care into crafting a detailed universe tailored for players to enjoy at their own speed.
Alongside the base game and eco-DLC, players can also purchase the game's original soundtrack for $4.99 USD, featuring a score composed by Oscar Araujo. Alex & Arty is out now on Steam with support for eight languages, including English, Spanish, Catalan, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.
